Hot Springs Photo

Between our visit to the beach and our family dinner we stopped at the hot springs. On one side was a natural hot spring that was feeding into a tiled hot tub. The stairs down to the tub had a pipe that moved the 108 degree water across the street to two open air rectangular pools. Here the water cooled and there were a number of people lounging and washing themselves. The hot tub area was covered and you had to descend two sets of stairs to enter the pool, it was covered so it had the feeling of being underground. The hot natural springs are thought to have healing benefits.

When we arrived a lady in her mid to late 60's and a friend (about the same age) were leaving the hot springs. The man had a cane and was having a difficult time with the stairs, he had a baseball hat, wore a beard and was just wearing his underwear. She was wearing a colorful dress and was soaking wet. She saw Lois and was very excited to meet her, asked where were were from. "If I wasn't wet, I would give you some love!" Lois told her that she was not that wet and gave her a hug. The lady turned to me, how could I turn her down? I gave her a hug. She told be that she lived in the US for 40 years in Ohio. She was going to return to the US for a visit,  "I'm from Nevis and now live here, I have two homes" she missed her people in the United States. While taking to me she held my wrist and started to rub the hair on my arm. She was so sweet and happy to meet us. Her friend said a few words, but he was shy or did not have much to say. I hope the water gave them healing.
