Sunday in Nevis
Sunday in Nevis is a family day, so preparations for the Sunday meal starts early. Pamela, Latoya and Lois prepared fried red snapper, cook up rice and rum cake.
Cricket was on the big screen, England vs Windes, The Caribbean Islands form a team for national competitions under the name West Indies. Pamela is signed up for the most comprehensive cable system I've ever seen, channels from a number of countries, all of the NBA, MLB, and NHL...for $20 per month.
The food preparation and the game in the background, a Thanksgiving Day kind of day.
I went on a walk up the street to the Eden Brown Estate, The Nevis Government is starting a project to refurbish the ruins of the sugar plantation estate. To the right of this photo is another building, my arrival caused the troop of monkey's to scramble. Apparently monkeys like ruins, it reminded of the scene in Jungle Book:
They are difficult to catch with your camera, they are very leery of humans and the humans are very frustrated with them. This morning the baby monkeys were in Pamela's side yard eating and playing in the trees.
We chased the rain around the island but it finally caught up with us.
We finished up the day with Sunday dinner.
