The merchants and traders of the 1180's were making great money and building their homes out of stone, Philip of Alsace decided that he could not be outdone and built himself a new home |

The rooms have been restored, this is also the first place in Europe that had a proper indoor fireplace, before the invention, the smoke from the fire would fill a room like this. |
