Tyne Cot



 Once you get a mile or so out of a Belgian City you enter post card country side of small farms, today we set out for Tyne Cot Cemetery, a memorial to the English and Commonwealth Solders in World War I. 





The picturesque farmland with bike and walking trails throughout the countryside

During The Great War it was a "No-Mans Land" from trench warfare
Tyne Cot has 12,000 solders berried here, 8,000 are of unknown identity




The cemetery is landscaped with flowers, a very quiet place to reflect

English schoolchildren are getting a lesson on The Great War. We listen in as he told of the battles, the mud and the artifacts  still being found in the nearby farms
