Hey Hey for The Monkey's

African Green Vervet Monkey's are everywhere, the video above is from Pamela's side yard. In the mornings a troupe will range through her yard looking for food. She planted a garden and seemed to be safe for a few years, but the monkeys eventually found food and took her plantings. This is a big challenge for the island. Already difficult to farm here with a hurricane season that runs from June until November, once a farmer or gardener dodges the wind, they contend with the monkey's that could eat their profits.

A program called New River Monkey Project helps farmers fence in their crops with an electric wire, the photo above is an example of this program. The two links are excellent reads as they explain both the beauty and the real challenges facing the people of Nevis.
If you have the resources, a fence system that resembles a batting cage will do the trick, this is on the home of an expat.

This is an example of a program developed by The United States to train monkey's to develop financial instruments on Wall Street.
